Being born a Jewish boy is tough. Only eight days into the adventure known as this life, your parents throw a big party for your very first Jewish milestone: your circumcision. Friends and family gather, and over a bagel brunch, they witness this monumental event and support your parents through the ordeal. I was so honored to be included in this special event, hosted by the Bloom-Hirschberg family. Co-officiated by Rabbi Lizzi Heydemann from Mishkan Chicago and Rabbi Tarkieltaub, the ceremony was beautiful, and little Henry (and his parents) handled it like a champ.
